Jessica Holmes – English/Social Science
My name is Jessica Holmes. I studied at Brock University for six years and received a Bachelor of Arts degree. After that, I went to Western (UWO) and obtained my OCT certification. I am qualified to teach grades 7-12, specializing in English and Social Sciences. I am currently teaching a gr. 9/10 split English course, after having taught ESLCO and ESLDO, as well as doing tutoring for those in need. I absolutely love teaching at REIA. It is delightful to teach students that come from such different cultures, who bring different opinions and experiences into the classroom, making it a very unique experience for not only the students, but myself as well.
Emily Bommarito – English

I also went through Brock’s Teacher’s College Program. I am qualified to teach Intermediate and Senior Dramatic Arts and English. I have been teaching grades 11 and 12 university English at REIA for the last three years. I have had the opportunity to teach grade 9 to 12 mathematics, general sciences, and physics. I really enjoy being involved in our monthly school activities! Helping students from different cultures to experience our Canadian culture and teach them some of my own traditions is both fun and rewarding!

To learn and grow richer daily, simply by interacting with the many unique and inspiring students, allows me to become a better, more balanced individual. I love inspiring, encouraging and mentoring students daily.
Esther Mikolajewski – Visual Art/Fashion
My name is Esther Mikolajewski and I have a Bachelor of Arts in German from McMaster U, a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Art History also from McMaster U. I am an OCT certified teacher, and also hold a Masters Degree in Education. At REIA I have taught Art 9-12 and Fashion 11 and 12. My teaching philosophy is to make a subject come alive. To be totally immersed in the knowledge and to experience it from every possible angle.
I am not a traveler, I love that these students come from far away and bring a new country to me. With my children off to university and to jobs of their own, needing me less, I find I still have plenty of love to give to other children. These students are so far from home and I hope to be their encouraging grandma, letting them know that someone believes in them and loves them on this side of the world. I love that we have an opportunity to keep our classes small, where I can really get down to the heart of the kids and help them in character development, study habits and skills.
Matthew Goldhawk – Science (Biology/Chemistry)

It is continually interesting to see what different perspectives they bring with them from different places, all the while being able to unite upon the common, universal nature of science.
